Visakha Puja Day @ Wat Pra Narai Temple

On Visakha Puja Day this year (24 May 2013), I went to Wat Pra Narai Temple in central of Korat downtown to attend the religious ceremony "Vien Tien" (Candle Light Procession) walk around the shrine containing a relic of the Buddha settled in front of the main Viharn of Wat Pra Narai.

Walking along Koat City Moat

Here's some pictures of Korat City Moat nowadays. The green surrounding looks nice but the water doesn't look so good up close.

Modern Pawnshop in Hua Tha Le area

I drove to Hua Tha Le area some days ago. While I was stuck in traffic, this place really catch my eye. I've never seen any pawnshop that look modern like this. Old style pawnshops I usually see can't look inside to see what they're doing. There're 2 doors, enter and exit. It's sort of a place some or most people feel embarrassed to go. But this one looks so modern and open for anyone to see what's going on inside.

Visakha Bucha 2013 at the Mall Korat

Visakha Bucha Day, the anniversary of the Buddha's Birth, Enlightenment and Death, a religious holidays which falls on the 15th day of the waxing moon in the 6th lunar month. This year it falls on May 24, 2013. In Korat, many people join in the Visakha Bucha Event at MCC Hall, the Mall Korat. The event will be held there throughout the month of May.

Ar-E BBQ and Buffet

Ar-E BBQ and Buffet is still one popular restaurant on Suebsiri road. 169 Baht per person, wide range of buffet menu, seafood, BBQ, salad, sweet etc. There's some live music in the evening. Go there early, the restaurant get busy very quick. I find out that it s rather too noisy this time for me. If you love peace and quiet, relaxing dinner, this place is really not suit you.

Coronation Day or Wan Chattra Mongkol 2013 in Korat

To commemorate the anniversary of the coronation of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej as Rama IX, the ninth king of Chakri dynasty. People in Thailand celebrate Coronation Day every year on 5th May. In Korat, the coronation celebration is organized on Sunday morning on 5th May at Prem Thinnasuranon Hall, located just behind Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Hall. Nakhon Ratchasima Governor along with local government officials joined in the coronation celebration ceremony.
